Self-Employed Mortgage Tips

askpaul explains about getting a mortgage while self-employed:

Hi again, one of the questions I get asked here at askpaul all the time is, Paul, I’m self-employed, what do I need to do to get a mortgage or get a mortgage application through with the bank? Well look, if you’re self-employed, everything else is very similar to a normal mortgage application.

Self-Employed Mortgage Checklist:

  • Current account statements for six months
  • Loan accounts statements for six months
  • Show your proof of savings
  • Show where the deposits are with your financial history
  • Have a really tidy set of accounts from a personal point of view

When it comes to the accounts for a company you need:

  • Two years audited accounts
  • Certifications and taxes up-to-date from revenue
  • You have your company in order
  • Tax affairs are up to count

It’s not that daunting, so, please make sure if you have any more questions to get in contact with us at askpaul, and, if you are looking for a mortgage, please feel free to get in touch.
