A woman’s best protection is a little money of her own

Clare Boothe Luce

While women are excelling in their careers and earning more income than ever, there is still a financial gap when it comes to the level of income protection, pensions and investments that they have in place which can have a huge impact on a woman’s financial future.

According to a study from ESRI, Irish women’s weekly income is €153 less than men in retirement.

This means, for every €1 men in Ireland earn, women earn 86 cents. And this 14% gender pay gap further compounds the pension gap faced by women later on.

Educating yourself & gaining knowledge is the single best action to take toward securing your financial future.

askpaul was created with the aim to help everyone gain the knowledge you would need to take control of your financial situation and make your money work harder & smarter for you.

Managing money in the midst of life’s other priorities is no easy task. This year, in honour of international women’s day, we’re hosting a series of events that are designed to encourage women toward greater financial empowerment, so they understand the fundamentals & ask the right questions about money.
